European Art Contests

United in Diversity through Art

European Art Contests (EAC) is a Europe-wide artistic initiative created to encourage creativity, imagination, and dialogue among artists from all EU countries, independent of religion, background, or artistic style, with a special focus on young talents.

Our mission is to bring together artists from different cultures, traditions, and spiritual sensibilities around a common theme, expressed through five major artistic categories. We believe that art is a powerful language that transcends borders, builds bridges between people, and embodies the European motto: “United in Diversity.”

A European Platform for Artistic Excellence

European Art Contests promote both traditional and contemporary forms of artistic expression, in harmony with the digital transformation of culture and society. It is an open invitation to painters, sculptors, photographers, musicians, and comic artists to share their vision and contribute to a common European cultural space inspired by spiritual and human values.

The contest also aims to:

  • Support intercultural and interreligious dialogue through artistic creation
  • Encourage young artists as the creative voices of today and tomorrow
  • Ensure broad European representation, with particular attention to Central and Eastern Europe
  • Connect emerging and established artists with international audiences and the art market

A Growing European Initiative

European Art Contests was initiated by the Federation of Catholic Family Associations in Europe (FAFCE) in 2022, together with artists and art lovers from across Europe. A European jury was formed in 2023 for the first edition, which took place under the theme:

“Who is Saint Joseph for me?”

The first edition gathered:

  • 126 artists
  • From 23 European countries
  • With a total budget of €6,000

Building on this success, preparations are now underway for the 2nd Edition of European Art Contests in 2026, which will further expand its reach, visibility, and impact. The contest is open toIf you would like to participate, support, or become a partner of European Art Contests, we warmly invite you to contact us:
